Tip-ex made a triumphant return to Harrogate in May 2010, proving that, despite the continuing economic uncertainty, the tipping and bulk transport industries are very much alive and well.
The show got an emphatic “thumbs up” from both exhibitors and visitors alike, who had clearly missed their own,
dedicated exhibition.
Visitors were able to inspect the very latest offerings from all the major tipper trailer makers, bodybuilders, equipment suppliers and service providers in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the Harrogate International Centre.
This year there was the added attraction of an impressive vehicle display area on the roads opposite the main halls which also featured a very popular hog roast!
From an exhibitor point of view the quality of the visitors was exceptional with representatives from major companies such as Eddie Stobart and Lafarge through to owner drivers.
Emphasising the point that at least one weekend opening day for the show is essential to allow hard pressed operators
who are busy working during the week to attend, Saturday proved to be the busiest. The halls were bustling with interested
visitors and unlike those at some other shows they were genuine operators and buyers and plenty of business was
being done.
But Tip-ex isn’t just about business and the all important social side certainly wasn’t neglected.
The gala dinner proved to be an unqualified success with some hardier guests partying until the small hours!
Support for this unique exhibition – the only UK show dedicated solely to the tipping and bulk transport industries – has been overwhelming with a number of exhibitors re-booking the same stands for next year.
Tip-ex in 2011 will take place from June 10th to June 12th to avoid clashing with the second May bank holiday and the school half term.
